先日、ブラインドの木村選手と、将棋盤を使って将棋を指しました。

I played shogi (Japanese chess) with a  teammate Keiichi Kimura, who is fully blind, using a shogi board.

どうやってブラインドの選手が将棋さすんだろうと思いませんか？

Don’t you think about how he plays shogi?

木村選手のお父さん特製のこの将棋盤を使って対戦しました。

We played using the board which his father made for him!

このように1マスずつ柵で囲ってあるため、触っても駒が動かないようになっています。

All spaces are enclosed, so the pieces don’t move to other spaces when he touches.

駒にはシールが貼ってあるので、どの駒か判別出来るそうです。

He distinguishes each piece by a seal put on each piece.

そしてもちろん名人のポジションには鈴木。

挑戦者が木村、と。

Of course, I’m in the shogi master’s position.

And he is in the challenger’s position! Lol.

 

小さい駒は、木村が触ると向きが変わる時があり、自分の駒だったはずが、気づいたら相手の駒のようになってる時があります笑。

Small pieces such as “Fu (Pawn)” move in the space when he touches. Those pieces sometimes turn to the opposite direction and look like my pieces turn to his pieces.

これも木村の作戦の一つでしょう。

I believe that it is his strategy to gain more pieces to smash me!

 

逆に王将のような大きい駒は場所によっては枠におさまらない事があります笑。

There are also spaces where are too small for the biggest pieces such as King to fit in.

手作り感満載！木村選手のお父さんの温もりを感じながら将棋を指しました。

This is a handmade shogi board! We played while we felt his father’s kindness.
